Questions & Answers

Art Licensing

  • Art licensing is an agreement where an artist is paid for the right to use their artwork. The artist keeps the copyright, while the company uses the artwork for an agreed-upon purpose, such as stationery, wall art, textiles, home goods, lifestyle accessories, and more. The artist (licensor) gets paid, and the company (licensee) gets to use the artwork to enhance their products and spaces.

  • I offer both exclusive and non-exclusive licenses, depending on the project.

Exclusive licenses mean the artwork is licensed to one company for a specific use, product category, or time period. During that time, I won’t license that same artwork to others for that same use.

Non-exclusive licenses allow the same artwork to be licensed by multiple companies and/or products.

If you’re not sure which is best for your project, I’m happy to talk through the options with you.
